» 5.8 magnitude quake jolts southern Greece

The quake occurred at 3:43 p.m. (1343GMT). Its epicenter was 45 kilometers (28 miles) southwest of the island of Kythera, and about 265 kilometers (164.67 miles) southwest of Athens.
The quake was felt in the Peloponnese and in Athens.
Greece lies in one of the world's most seismically active regions.
