    » Ex-mayor launches appeal

    Ex-mayor Akis Tsagaropulos launched his appeal against his detention awaiting trial via his legal representative.Mr Tsagaropoulos is currently on remand in Korydallos prison complex after a joint decision by the district attorney and trial examiner.His lawyer, Mr Pavlos Synetos, noted that the ex-mayors current detention is completely irrelevant of any future decisions as there is no official testimony against Akis Tsagaropoulos only a statement from the co-accused which can not be used in court. The pre-trial examinations continue with a hearing likely to be in the next 3-4 months.
