Published 2008-07-15
Teenager Sean Dutton is fighting for his life after a quad-bike crash on the Greek island of Zakynthos during a holiday with friends. Sean, 18, of Vicars Cross, who works in Bank of America, was on holiday in Zante when the accident happened. Sean, who has a motorbike licence, was airlifted 160 miles from Laganas in Zante to the Greek capital Athens for emergency brain surgery.
Wendy, his mother, and her husband John, were on holiday in Magaluf, Spain, when they received news of the accident.
We got a call on Monday morning saying Sean had very little chance of surviving. He had a massive scar from the front to the back of his head where they had to saw the skull, and he has fractured the top of his spine. He?s a toughie. He?s going to get through this.
